From the recording EPIPHANY
Once, when on the job, Doug had finally had enough of the unreasonable actions and statements from a boss. So Doug walked up to him and said, "I'm sorry, but you are not living up to my expectations. I'm gonna have to let you go." and walked away with the bosses mouth hanging open, stymied on what to say.
Doug went on to work where he was appreciated and never had to fire another boss.
This Country Rocker tells the story in a way Johnny Paycheck never did!

Lyrics
Well, It’s time for review, we’ve got a problem.
What I’m trying to do just ain’t getting done
Been Thinking it through, weighing the options.
To sum it all up, I’ve only got one
You always tell me we got to work smarter, not harder.
I’m wising up, I’ll take your word,
gonna do what I oughta
Hey Boss, You’re fired!
Time to cash it all in.
Been playin’ a game I never had a chance to win.
Hey Boss, You’re fired!
Taking my ball home.
I’m Tired of being sick & tired,
Hey Boss, You’re Fired!
For fifteen years, I stayed in the background.
Making you look good was making me sore.
Try to move up, you knock me back down,
I give you my all, you’re just screaming for more
Been watching you line your pockets
for a good long time.
The Buck stops here,
I’m through towing your line!
The Bank’s a little nervous;
The wife’s just a little bit wired.
But I’m on a roll, assuming control,
I’m tired of being sick & tired!
Hey Boss, You’re fired!
Writing’s on the wall,
You got your name in a prominent place
in the bathroom stall.
Hey Boss, You’re fired!
I regret to inform...
I’m tired of being sick & tired,
Hey Boss, You’re Fired!
(Spoken)
I’m outta here.
You’ve been downsized baby!
That’s what I call pro-active leadership.
Put that in your mission statement and smoke it!
