From the recording Epiphany- Limited Release
Who fires their boss? I did. I went to my boss and told him "I'm sorry, You haven't been living up to my expectations, I'm going to have to let you go." Usually never at a loss for words, all he could do was gape at me and couldn't say anything. I decided to take my future into my own hands and retire from that job. Marty Easter helped me write this one.

HEY BOSS, YOU’RE FIRED ©Doug Robertson/ Marty Easter CD Baby Publishing
It’s time for review, we’ve got a problem.
What I’m trying to do just ain’t getting done
Been Thinking it through, weighing the options.
To sum it all up, I’ve only got one
You always tell me we got to work smarter, not harder.
I’m wising up, I’ll take your word, gonna do what I oughta
Hey Boss, You’re fired! Time to cash it all in.
I’ve Been playin’ a game I never had a chance to win.
Hey Boss, You’re fired! Taking my ball home.
I’m Tired of being sick & tired, Hey Boss, You’re Fired!
For fifteen years, I stayed in the background.
Making you look good was making me sore.
I try to move up, you knock me back down,
I give you my all, you’re just screaming for more
Been watching you line your pockets for a good long time.
The Buck stops here, I’m through towin’ your line!
The Bank’s a little nervous; The wife’s just a little bit wired.
But I’m on a roll, assuming control, I’m tired of being sick & tired!
Hey Boss, You’re fired! The writing’s on the wall,
You got your name in a prominent place in the bathroom stall.
Hey Boss, You’re fired! I regret to inform...
I’m Tired of being sick & tired, Hey Boss, You’re Fired!
I’m outta here.
You’ve been downsized baby!
That’s what I call pro-active leadership.
Put that in your mission statement and smoke it!
